We’re a passionate group of volunteers inspired by Queer and Sober Amsterdam (IG: @queersoberclub), dedicated to creating a similar community in Brussels. Our efforts are thus entirely voluntary, driven by our wish to connect like-minded individuals and foster a supportive environment for all. Join us as we come together to embrace sobriety and celebrate our shared journey!

Queer and Sober Brussels is a Community for Sober and Sober Curious LGBTQIA+ People (and Allies), who are interested in an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle.
This sober adventure can be easier at Q&S Brussels since you’ll be surrounded by people who attentively listen and care, people who are on the same journey or who have been on the same journey as you are.
Whether you are determined to take on a new personal challenge, are intrigued by the world of sobriety or are just curious to see if this great concept can meet your expectations, all are welcome to join one of our next events.
What do we mean by ‘sober’?
From our perspective, living sober means embracing a lifestyle that prioritizes clarity and well-being by abstaining from alcohol and drugs. It’s about choosing your own path of empowerment and health every step of the way.
What sets ‘clean’ apart from ‘sober’?
In our view, being ‘clean’ means acting and breaking free from substances like alcohol and drugs. On the other side, ‘sober’ embodies a deeper lifestyle transition, where you embark on a journey of self-discovery within a sober living space. It’s not just about abstaining; it’s about embracing a whole new way of life.
What about AA and NA?
Our group isn’t just for those in AA/NA (Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous)—it’s for anyone committed/curious to a sober lifestyle, no matter what their reasons are. We prioritize embracing a healthier way of life without the focus solely on addiction. Join us in building a supportive community centered around living substance-free and thriving together!
Of course! While our events are primarily tailored for individuals embracing or aspiring to a sober lifestyle, we extend a warm welcome to all. We kindly ask attendees to abstain from alcohol or drug consumption during/just before our activities to maintain a supportive environment for everyone. Your cooperation in creating a safe space is greatly appreciated as we come together to connect and grow. We’re excited to have you join us and be part of our community!
Absolutely! Our community is open to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Whether you identify as queer or not, you are more than welcome to join us. Our aim is to create an inclusive and supportive space for all individuals who are interested in embracing a sober lifestyle and connecting with like-minded people. We look forward to having you as part of our community!
Coming alone to our activities is perfectly fine because our main goal is to foster a safe and supportive community where people can connect and feel comfortable. Rest assured, you won’t be the only one arriving solo, and chances are you’ll quickly find yourself engaged in conversation with others. However, if diving into a group activity right away doesn’t feel like your thing, feel free to reach out via DM. You’re more than welcome to request a one-on-one meeting with one of our volunteers, who will gladly assist you with any questions you may have.
